Vinayakbhai Salvi, the master weaver of Patan Patolas said, “Seeing the gradual but constant decline in the interest in the Patola weaving tradition among our Salvi community, the few of us left behind wanted to archive the weaving process and safeguard its heritage and we decided to have a Patan Patola Heritage Museum where one can view the live demonstration of a Patola saree being woven, get an understanding of the process, know the Salvi family history and also admire the numerous national awards that the Salvi family has won. The museum since the time it started in 2014 has seen many celebrities visit it like Amitabh Bachchan, Om Puri, Dipti Naval as well as many political leaders.”
