A stupendous success, Shatika for the first time ever held a private exhibition in Bengaluru, hosted by the House of Parama on the 10th and 11th of June 2017, in one of Bangalore’s sought after locales: Adarsh Palm Retreat. The trendy IT hub saw the crème de la crème of Bangalore, excited to be part of the trunk show that had cherry picked handloom sarees from various weaving clusters of India. UPAHAAR, the trunk show, hosted by Ms.Nandini Lakshminarayan for the House of Parama, had an enviable variety of sarees with an array of textures and designs curated from different parts of the country. The guests were drawn to the event by their love of heritage and handlooms. There was a mix of connoisseurs, the young, and the uninitiated that dropped by to check out the buzz and ended up becoming ardent fans of both the delectable collection and the rich history behind the weaves.
The House of Parama is zealous about promoting hand touched products that marry aesthetics and function. The mutual passion for promoting handlooms and the weaving community, saw the House of Parama and Shatika combine their synergies to present UPAHAAR, an impactful Handloom Trunk Show.
The first time in the history of Shatika and that of the country, we hosted India’s biggest Handloom silk sarees exhibition cum sale, in Bhopal’s landmark hotel, Jehan Numa Palace. First of its kind, this was a solitary initiative by Shatika which saw a display of some of our best silk collections from the world of handloom sarees. The three day event that took place between 2nd to 4th September 2016 showcased some of the finest weaves by master weavers of celebrated handloom clusters like the real brocade Banarasi silk sarees, deft double ikat Patola silk sarees, pure Paithani silk sarees, finely crafted Kanchipuram silk sarees, royal Dharmavaram sarees, grand Gadwal silk sarees, pristine Kosa silk sarees, textured Bhagalpuri silk sarees, authentic bomkai Sambalpuri silk sarees to name a few. And if that was not enough, all the sarees displayed in this unique exhibition cum sale were offered at FLAT 50% OFF!
A regal 19th century residence, the Jehan Numa palace in Bhopal is a stunning palace turned hotel that is a charming medley of British colonial, Italian renaissance and Greek architecture. The best heritage hotel in town, it was just the right place for us to first time exhibit our quintessential l heritage collection.
After the prodigious response of its first ever Handloom silk saree exhibition at Bhopal from 2nd to 4th September 2016, Shatika was all set to repeat its success story, this time at another heritage city, Raipur. A three day exhibition of exclusive handloom silk sarees hosted at Raipur’s Mayura hotel from 20 to 24 Oct 2016 saw a sea of handloom silk sarees from varied handloom clusters across the country. An exhaustive list of 5000+ celebrated weaves from over 2000 weaving clusters that were seen in the expo were, real zari brocade banarasi silks, deft Chanderi silk sarees, highly popular Gadwal silks, finely crafted Kota Dorias in real zari, coruscating Kanchipuram silks in real zari, pure Mulberry silks, dazzling Dharmavaram silks, traditional Bangalore silk sarees, authentic Mysore silks and many more. A treat as they they were to the eyes of onlookers, it was a real treat for their pockets too for all sarees at the expo were offered at FLAT 50% OFF!
A three star business and lifestyle hotel in the heart of the city, Mayura hotel -Raipur where the exhibition was held, was a perfect place to hold India’s largest handloom silk saree exhibition as it was chic, contemporary and vibrant and provided the right vibes to host an exhibition of sarees that echoed the same sentiments.
The three day exhibition cum sale of India’s finest handloom silk sarees hosted by Shatika on 10th, 11th and 12th of February 2017 saw a roaring response from the city that roars cultural brilliance – Bhopal. The three day event that took place in Bhopal’s iconic hotel, Hotel Jehan Numa Palace saw commemorative weaves from all over the country including legendary Banarasi broade sarees, classic Kanchipuram silks, illustrious Gadwal silks and noted Patola sarees to name a few. These acclaimed sarees were well received by the women of Bhopal who not only appreciated the authenticity, genuinity, impeccable quality and incredible pricing of these sarees but acknowledged the effort put in by the makers of these sarees, the weaver community and Shatika for bringing forth their talent before them. These women went back home with not just wardrobe full of exemplary silk sarees but an experience of a lifetime!
